Shoyo

Shoyo is a 2D action platformer where you take on the role of the titular protagonist, Shoyo, on her quest for personal freedom against the CEO of the Megalo Corporation, Mr. Mania. Her journey isn't an easy one, however, as Mr. Mania lives comfortably in the penthouse of his personal mecha fortress with a vast personal army at his disposal. 

Armed with advanced yo-yos and the ability to stop time, battle your way through the interior of the mech, one room at a time till you reach the top and put an end to Mr. Mania’s evil doings once and for all.

Game Features

• Yo-yo Based Gameplay

Every gameplay and aesthetic addition to the game will be considered through the lens of having the yo-yo as a main weapon. Attack flourishes and environmental traversal will integrate yo-yos as core features. Enemy designs will similarly reflect this, such as melee enemies carrying specialized scissors trying to cut the string of the yo-yos. 

• Your movement is attacking

Although Shoyo lacks the sheer firepower of her opponents, she more than makes up for it in her agility. Shoyo’s movements are quick and snappy, and she will easily be able to outmaneuver her opponents. This is also going to be reflected in the enemies who will move slower than her, attempting to muscle her down with sheer volume.
